A Few Things
A few things for the holidays . . .
1. A picture of ice I took a little while back on the new Robson Square Ice rink.
2. A graduation speech from one of my favorite websites, TED. Each story seemed appropriate for my life right now, I hope you find something of the same.
3. A song that reminds me of some good friends.

Andy Nuttall
This morning I got a call, that sadly puts me in the same company as thousands of other Canadians. A good friend Andrew Nuttall was killed in Afghanistan this morning.
The last time that I saw him was the first time that I saw him in uniform.
He walked into a summer wedding of a friend, in his uniform, standing tall and proud. I took him outside to take his portrait and he told me about his plans to go to Afghanistan at the end of October and his genuine excitement to get there and be of service.
Andy lived his life doing what he believed was right. Without fear of what could happen, and ultimately did. Here is the portrait that I took of him that night.

It's been along time. . .
It's been a long time since I've posted anything here. But this morning, while eating my cereal and reading the new york times, I came across this article about an artist who wasn't "discovered" until she was 94. I thought "huh, now that's something worth sharing"
